The platform enables businesses to plan, assess and manage risk across projects, people and locations, supporting everything from travel risk and field operations through to compliance and governance. RiskPal’s software is designed to help teams make informed decisions, reduce exposure, and improve duty of care through structured, auditable risk assessments and real-time updates.
Business Requirements:
RiskPal required a mobile application that mirrored the full functionality of their existing web platform while being optimised for on-the-go use. The key challenge was translating a highly detailed, rules-driven risk assessment workflow into a mobile-first experience without compromising data integrity, usability, or compliance. The app needed to support complex templates, dynamic forms, approvals, attachments, offline progress, and secure authentication, all while remaining intuitive for users working in the field.

Our Process
Requirements
The mobile app needed to support the complete end-to-end risk assessment lifecycle. This included first-time authentication via QR code or PIN, secure ongoing access via biometrics, and the ability to create, edit, review and submit complex risk assessments. Users needed to capture detailed project information, assign risks and mitigations, upload supporting evidence, manage communications and emergency contacts, and track approvals, often while working remotely or in time-sensitive environments.
Solutions
Chilliapple delivered a mobile-first application that fully mirrors RiskPal’s web platform while enhancing usability for field-based users. The solution supports dynamic templates, progressive saving, structured workflows and advanced mobile features including biometric login, offline form persistence, attachments and PDF generation. Phase 2 extended the platform with full risk assessment management, updates, notifications and a mobile risk library, creating a robust and scalable mobile extension of RiskPal.
Results
The finished mobile application enables RiskPal users to manage complex risk assessments entirely from their mobile devices, improving efficiency, accessibility and adoption across field-based teams. By maintaining full parity with the web platform and leveraging mobile-specific capabilities, RiskPal now offers a seamless, secure and scalable experience across devices.
