Account Executive

Job Title: Account Executive
Type: Graduate/Junior. Full time, Permanent
Location: Edenbridge, Kent
Start Date: April 2020, or June 2020 to allow for prior completion of degree
Salary: £20k - £22k + Bonus and Profit Share Scheme

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Account Management and working within the Account Management team, the Account Executive will have responsibility for a portfolio of chilliapple clients, and the retention and growth of their revenues. You will work closely with all departments to ensure that each customer receives the highest standards of service and client satisfaction in order to foster longstanding relationships.

Key responsibilities:

  • Project Management of web and mobile app development projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, on specification and on budget
  • Account Management of existing clients, handling ongoing requests within their support and maintenance packages, and upselling additional work and services to maximise revenue
  • Work with the rest of the Account Management team and the Development team to understand clients’ requirements, ask appropriate questions to refine the scope of work, and deliver proposals that meet the clients’ objectives
  • Set up and attend regular client meetings to review progress and discuss future work
  • Position yourself as a ‘sustaining resource’ in the eyes of your clients – a member of their own team – by consistently demonstrating exceptional communication skills and a proactive nature
  • Deliver project and account updates to senior stakeholders in weekly meetings, identifying potential bottlenecks to unblock, and opportunities for further sales and revenue growth
  • Write case studies on your recent projects, and attain positive reviews from your clients on Google and Trustpilot
  • Contribute to chilliapple’s overall marketing efforts, including attending networking events and exhibitions, and writing content for blogs and PR releases

The ideal candidate

This being a graduate role, we have a policy of “hire for personality, train for skill”. The right attitude and work ethic are more important than your prior experience, although relevant experience and knowledge will of course demonstrate a genuine interest in our industry.

Key skills, qualifications & experience:

  • A recent/imminent graduate in Business Management, Marketing, Digital Media or similar
  • Experience in a customer-centric role, either over the phone or face-to-face
  • Strong business writing skills and ability to produce high quality documents
  • Able to demonstrate strong commercial awareness
  • Experience in a revenue generating role is advantageous
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Some knowledge of the design and development process for websites or mobile applications is a distinct advantage

Placement Student

Duration: 12 months, commencing from July/August 2020
Location: Edenbridge, Kent
Salary: £16k - £18k

About the role

We’re searching for a placement student to support the Account Management team in our Kent office. It’s a varied role with key responsibilities including:

  • Assisting with the Project Management of website and mobile app development projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Assisting with Account Management of our existing client base, handling ongoing requests within the support and maintenance packages, and upselling further work.
  • Contributing to our marketing efforts, both inbound and outbound, including email campaigns, Pay Per Click, Search Engine Optimisation, networking at conferences and exhibitions, writing blogs, copy and PR releases.
  • Supporting senior stakeholders to win new business through market and technology research, and assisting with requirement analysis and project scoping.

Skills and qualifications

  • Studying a relevant undergraduate degree such as Business Management, Marketing, Digital Media or similar
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the confidence to liaise with clients and senior stakeholders
  • Team player with a good work ethic
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • An analytical mind and enthusiasm for problem solving
  • Technical expertise is not required, only an interest in technology and genuine desire to learn

The role comes with a salary of £16k-£18k and 20 days holiday plus bank holidays. There is also potential for the successful candidate to be offered a full-time permanent role upon completion of their degree.
