Goodlookers was established in 2007 and sells affordable and fashionable glasses online in the USA, UK and Europe to the trade and to customer directly. The company supplies reading glasses and sunglasses in a wide range of styles, materials and colours and has a selection of eyewear accessories.
The Goodlookers website was operating on an out of date version of Magento and needed to be updated to the latest version of Magento 2 to ensure security and the best user experience. In addition, the business required various enhancements to the site content, purchase and payment journey, email integration and to their loyalty scheme.
With a core chilliapple project team of Magento specialists and an account manager, we put in place a plan that would not interrupt ‘business as usual’. We retained all existing functionality, fully migrated all product and category data and other site content as well as customer and order data. We ensured the upgraded site was optimised for speed as well as for search engines. SEO equity was retained and Google Analytics configured. We used a mobile responsive design theme to keep the costs down and migrated the site to a dedicated UK Fast Magento optimised server. We also delivered all the required changes and enhancements. After launch, we tracked site performance for 60 days and fixed any bugs.
There was no business interruption during the upgrade and Goodlookers benefited from an improved user experience and journey to purchase which has been hugely important during the COVID-19 global pandemic.
