The business requirements

Cleaning spot is a leading one stop shop for commercial cleaning products suppliers. Their main product lines are specialist window cleaning products, water fed equipment and other cleaning products.

Cleaning Spot approached us to redesign their website which was running through Sellerdeck, and upgrade to a bespoke designed PrestaShop 1.7 ecommerce website that delivered clarity and simplicity.

Cleaning Spot were looking to have a more engaging and optimised site that would help them grow in the coming years. It should allow for easy navigation and ensure regular retail customers are comfortable and reassured through their purchase journey.

Our solution

Our Senior Designer worked with the client to understand the target audience (both B2B and B2C) and its businesses objectives. The objective was to design a bespoke site for desktop, iPad and iPhone devices. Mobile-friendliness was of particular importance so that Window Cleaners and other similar trades could order products quickly whilst on a job.

Our initial designs focused on the user journey for the home page, product categories and checkout. Special focus was given to the user account area which held details securely and offered credit terms alongside wholesale pricing.

Cleaning Spot had considered using other ecommerce platforms however we advised that taking advantage of PrestaShop Addons Marketplace would add rich features and capabilities and enable integration with other 3rd party platforms such as Sage 200, eBay and Amazon.

Further consideration to migrate to PrestaShop 1.7 also meant that our developers were able to plan and safely migrate vast amounts of customer and product data from the SellerDeck to PrestaShop.

The results

The result was a clean, modern and responsive website with a greater focus on the client’s growing B2B market. This included loyalty points integration, ability to display prices including or excluding VAT, and a custom module for building a window cleaning kit.
